BUILDING PERMIT FAQ
Are you thinking of doing some renovation to your home???
The City of Cambridge Inspectional Services Department is offering a free 2-hour Q & A session for residents of Cambridge to answer their questions on renovations and construction requirements. This event will take place on Monday, June 24 from 5-7 p.m.
You must pre-register, space is limited. Please email Delisa Adair at dadair@cambridgema.gov to sign up. The location is dependent of the number of attendees. You will be notified of the location the week before the event.
The Fire Department, Zoning, and Department of Public Works will also be present to answer any of your questions, which will include:
- How to apply for a permit for renovation?
- When do I need a permit for construction?
- What questions do I ask my contractor before I hire?
- Do I need a contract and, if so, what needs to be in the contract?
