About the Cambridge Bicycle Program
The Division works to promote bicycling as a healthy, environmentally friendly way of getting around Cambridge and the Boston area. These efforts are an important part of the City's efforts to improve mobility and protect our environment. Cambridge is well suited to bicycling and more people are using their bikes every day for commuting, shopping, and general transportation.
To help make bicycle use even more convenient, the division is implementing a number of programs in coordination with Cambridge businesses and other City departments. Bicycle programs include installing bicycle lanes and other bicycle improvements as streets are repaved, bicycle safety campaigns in schools and elsewhere to teach safe cycling to both children and adults, and the installation of bicycle parking throughout the city.
