Lewis Room/Rotary Conference Room

Meeting Room Policies and Form

The Central Square Branch Library at 45 Pearl St. has two meeting rooms available to Cambridge non-profit community groups and organizations that are engaged in educational, cultural, and/or charitable activities. The Lewis Room on the mezzanine floor is a large, multi-purpose space that can accommodate an audience of over a hundred people. It is suitable for music, drama or dance performance, conferences, trainings, and meetings of all kinds. Due to demands on the space, the Lewis Room cannot accommodate regular monthly or weekly meetings.

The Rotary Conference Room in the library basement is a classroom with conference tables and blackboards that can accommodate up to thirty people and is suitable for meetings and training sessions. It may be available for regular weekly or monthly meetings, subject to review every six months.

Use of these rooms is offered free to Cambridge organizations on a first-come, first-served basis. All meetings must be scheduled during the open hours of the Branch Library; evening hours are limited to Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. It is wise to plan on scheduling use of the rooms at least a month in advance. Events in these rooms must be free of charge to participants and open to the public. The Branch Library is handicapped-accessible, with an elevator and an accessible restroom. Call (617) 349-4417 for scheduling or more information about the Central Square Branch Library’s public meeting space.
