A Consumer's Pocket Guide: Helpful Hints and Reference Numbers
Table of Contents

Simple, direct consumer advice and information arranged in a 16 page pocket-sized booklet by Jane Carroll, a faculty member of the Threshold Program of Lesley College in Cambridge and by Paul Schlaver the Executive Director of the Cambridge Consumers' Council.

A Consumer's Pocket Guide was initiated as a sabbitical project by Jane Carroll and it then became a joint venture with Paul Schlaver, who found funding for it through VISA USA, Inc. and developed the multi-city reference guide idea for the center pages of the booklet. The booklet was designed for use by programs that serve adults with learning disabilities (as does the Threshold Program), but it has proven to be helpful to adult literacy and English-as-a-second-language programs as well.
