Notes on the Collection:
The R.A.R.E. Collection was donated in October 1983 by Roger S. Webb, president of R.A.R.E., Inc. (Rare Architectural Restorations Enterprise, Inc.).
Photographs were removed and placed with the “R.A.R.E. Photographs Collection,” and the slides were placed with other Commission slides about Harvard and Radcliffe.
The Collection contains drawings, correspondence, contracts, deeds, reports, etc. primarily about two building in Cambridge: The Watson House (30 Elmwood St. and formerly located at 5 Russell St.) and the Wells House (170 Brattle St. and formerly located at 2 Phillips Place). The Collection also includes a file about the Middlesex County Courthouse. In addition, the Cambridge Heritage Trust file provides information about the functions of the institution.
