NOTICE OF A PUBLIC HEARING
Removal of Public Shade Trees
City of Cambridge, Department of Public Works
Pursuant to Massachusetts General Laws Chapter
87, Sections 3 and 4, a public hearing will
be held on Wednesday, December 3, 2008,
at 5:30 p.m. in the Main Conference
Room of the Department of Public Works, 147
Hampshire Street, Cambridge, Mass., to consider
the removal of the following public trees:
- Intersection of Cedar St. and Mass. Ave. - Removal of 3 Ash trees, (12.1", 15.5" and 12.9") due to reconstruction of roadway and Linear Park. Location will be replanted.
- Rutland St. at Shepard St. - Removal of 1 Norway Maple tree (18.7') due to large cavities and decay.

28 Meadow Way - Removal of 1 Norway Maple tree (22.1") due to significant dieback. Location will be replanted.

14 Williams St. - Removal of 1 Norway Maple tree (24") due to significant dieback and structural issues. Location will be replanted.
- 221 Charles St. - Removal of 1 Norway Maple tree (21.4") due to cavities and structural issues. Location will be replanted.
- 3 Wyman St. on Avon Hill - Removal of 1 Norway Maple tree (18.8") due to significant decay and cavity present in trunk. Location will be replanted.
The trees identified above have been posted
for public inspection. Any objection to the
removal must be submitted in writing to the
City Arborist, prior to or during the hearing.
