The City’s contractor will reconstruct the sidewalks, ramps, and roadway on Green Street (from Putnam Ave to Pleasant St) and on Sellers Street (from Green St to Mass Ave).

This project involves removal of existing sidewalks and curbs, placement of new curbs, grading, placement of new sidewalks, and roadway paving.

The City's contractor for this project is Newport Construction. DPW Construction Project Manager, Jane Demoulas, will be on site daily to ensure best construction management practices are observed.

Signage and police details will be in place to assist during traffic disruptions. The contractor will work with impacted property owners to coordinate and limit any disruptions to the greatest extent possible.

Construction will start in late July/ early August 2008, and iis expected to take several months to complete overall (though different sections of the street will be active construction areas at different times).

General work hours will be Monday-Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. “No Parking Signs” will be posted 24 hours in advance of all work. No evening or weekend construction is anticipated.
