Black Studies Collection The Black Studies Collection housed at the Central Square Branch Library is an active circulating collection containing both popular and academic material. It consists of about 750 works by African-American and African authors. The contents include biographies, sports, histories, books on the history of Blacks in the South, Civil Rights, and works by Harlem Renaissance writers. The focus of the collection's development nowadays is on Black America. Books purchased include books on Black history, biography, fiction, poetry, and Black-interest non-fiction, along with some scholarly works that are mostly historical in nature. |
