Possession and recreational use of marijuana are now legal in Massachusetts. This recent change in legislation leaves many employers uncertain about what it means for their current drug and alcohol policies. Given the existing variety of legal implications already associated with substance abuse, it is easy to see why employers are confused.

Join AIM for an interactive workshop that will explore everything from how substance use impacts your drug and alcohol policies to managing employees who suffer from substance abuse issues. We will use case studies to build your confidence in addressing these concerns in the workplace.

When: March 30th from 9:00 A.M. - 11:30 A.M.

Where: Cambridge City Hall Annex, 344 Broadway Street, Cambridge, MA

What You Will Learn:
• Details of the new marijuana legislation and how it will impact your business
• Essential language you must include in your policies
• How other employers in other states have handled legal, recreational use of marijuana
• What other laws may influence your decisions (FMLA, ADA, EST, OSHA, Workers Comp, etc...)
• The do’s and don’ts of drug testing
• Best practices for managing employees who suffer from drug and alcohol abuse

Presenter: Tom Jones, Esq., Vice President, Associated Industries of Massachusetts
