What is Earth Hour Cambridge?

We'll turn the lights off at City Hall, the Cambridge Public Library Main Branch (449 Broadway), and other municipal buildings from 8:30 to 9:30 P.M. on Saturday, March 24! Join us at 8:30 P.M. by turning the lights off in your building! Register your commitment to turn off the lights here, and share on social media! We'll be tweeting, IG-ing, and Facebook Live-ing your activities! Remember to tag us (@CDDat344 on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook). We encourage local businesses, organizations, and households to switch off their lights for the designated hour to show solidarity and raise awareness about efforts to combat climate change. Other local and notable participants include BioMed Realty, Boston Properties, the Empire State Building, the Space Needle, the Philadelphia Zoo.

From the World Wildlife Fund:

Every year, hundreds of millions of people around the world switch off their lights for one designated hour to demonstrate a commitment to fighting climate change.

This year, Earth Hour takes place at 8:30 P.M. local time on March 24.

Earth Hour 2018 is about getting the crowd to kick-start conversations on the inter-connectivity of climate change with biodiversity and people. Through this momentous event, we hope to engage millions of people worldwide to take action through 2018-2020 and beyond.

Momentum is on our side. The world is looking toward a renewable future. This Earth Hour, turn up the dark and get loud about climate action. Let the world know you’re all in.
