The Economic Development Division works with the Center for Women & Enterprise, Cambridge Community Television (CCTV), Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and local organizations to provide business development programs and services to Cambridge residents, entrepreneurs, and businesses.

  • Description: 93% of marketers are using video. Video is having a huge impact on how a company shares their messaging and how to share proper Call to Action. In this class, you will learn the basics of what goes into a video production, how to create a beneficial video on a shoestring budget, and techniques for capturing a professional looking video with mobile device. We recommend you bring a mobile phone with video capabilities to class. Search Engine Optimization Workshop

  • Description: This is a class about how to get your website to the top of Google Search. We will focus on on-page and off-page SEO. Have you ever wondered why you are not #1 on Google? Attend this class and not only find out why your website isn’t #1, but what steps you can take to earn that position. Prerequisite: You must either work on your own website, or actively serve as an administrator for an existing business, organization, or charity website. Presenter: Ted Debettencourt.

Social & Web Drop-In Assistance Session

  • Description: Drop-in sessions provide an opportunity for you to get one-on-one assistance and to have all your social media and web questions answered by a professional. No appointment is necessary, but registration is recommended to ensure space.

Is Entrepreneurship Right for You?

  • Date: Monday, February 26, 2018
  • Time: 5:30 P.M. - 7:30 P.M.
  • Location: Cambridge City Hall Annex, 344 Broadway, Cambridge MA
  • Description: Attend this workshop and decide whether starting your own business is right for you. As a part of this workshop, you will: explore the process and learn about the risks and rewards of starting up your own business; conduct a self-assessment that will help you decide if business ownership is right for you; find out the first steps to start a business; and get an overview of resources available to help you move forward with your business idea. *This workshop is a requirement for the March 2018 10-week Business Planning Program.
