Porter Square Customer Intercept Survey

Porter Square MBTA Stop

As part of its Customer Intercept Survey Program for Cambridge’s commercial districts, the Community Development Department (CDD) began a survey in Porter Square on September 17. The purpose of the Commercial District Customer Intercept Survey is to provide the Economic Development Division with a better understanding of what Cambridge residents and Porter Square customers want in their commercial district. Having specific information about the different types of consumers in each commercial district will enable us to better assist entrepreneurs to find locations where their businesses can succeed; help current businesses owners understand the local market and help property owners recruit potential businesses to vacant storefronts. CDD has completed successful surveys in both Central and Kendall Squares, and the results have informed the planning process for those areas.

Porter Square surveying days and times have been scheduled from September 17-29, 2012 at different locations throughout the District. Surveys may also be picked up, filled out, and submitted at Porter Square Books and TAGS Hardware in the Porter Square Shopping Center, and at Miso Market (1963 Mass. Ave.).  We encourage you to snag a surveyor or pick up a survey at one of the retailers and give us your input on Porter Square!

If you have questions regarding the Porter Square Survey, please contact Pardis Saffari in the Economic Development Division at 617-349-4654 or at psaffari@cambridgema.gov.
