Cambridge Science Festival April 12-21

2013 Cambridge Science Festival – April 12-21, 2013!

The City of Cambridge is delighted to participate in the 2013 Cambridge Science Festival! This year we are hosting an interactive session on getting around Cambridge without getting into a car - CitySmart style! We will have a table on April 13th at the Main Library (449 Broadway) and we will be taking over a parking spot on Garden Street on April 16th! Come learn with us.

Also at the Cambridge Science Festival this year:

Line-dancing robots… The physics of billiards… The science of food! All new and waiting for you at the 2013 Cambridge Science Festival. Join the fun as we swing open the lab doors and explore some of the most exciting science, technology, engineering, art, and math in the world.

Ten days and nights of events during public school vacation week means there’s something for everyone. Check out the Artisan’s Asylum’s DIY open house and learn about Stompy, a car-sized, two-person hexapod robot; “Party for the Planet” at the Franklin Park Zoo on Earth Day; tour bridges spanning from Cambridge to Boston (and wear comfortable shoes!); laugh along with us as comedians try to guess what experts are researching in some of the more obscure scientific fields. It’s a true celebration of what makes the Cambridge area so great!

This year, the fun starts on Friday, April 12th with our hugely popular Big Ideas for Busy People featuring 10 of the brightest minds presenting their big ideas in a rapid series of five- minute talks. Big Ideas will be followed the next day, April 13th, by the Science Carnival, our biggest event designed for the whole family. The 2013 Carnival will feature a robot zoo, stage performances, interactive experiments and hands-on activities that are completely free!
