Thanks to an intensive and ongoing effort, the City of Cambridge is competing for the $5 million Georgetown University Energy Prize. As one of the many initiatives underway to help win the prize, Cambridge Energy Alliance is working with Next Step Living to help single family homes and residential buildings with 2 to 4 units reduce their energy use.

The first part of this residential initiative is outreach.  The effort includes offering information tables at larger employers, retailers, and community events. The effort also includes door-to-door canvassing.  These efforts and others will help residents across Cambridge will be able to take actions to save energy, save money, protect the environment, and win the prize.

Taking advantage of Mass Save services is an easy and important way that residents can save energy. Massachusetts is first in the nation for energy efficiency, largely thanks to the incentives and no-cost upgrades offered through the Mass Save program. Eversource Energy (formerly NSTAR) has chosen Next Step Living (NSL) as one of its Mass Save energy efficiency contractors and energy assessments are available to Eversource Energy customers such as you at no cost.  Next Step Living is supporting neighborhood outreach initiatives to help residents save energy.
