Join the Cambridge Pedestrian Committee for its fourth annual summer walk! This year we will be exploring hidden gems of the Alewife area while learning about recent and upcoming developments.

The walk will depart at 9:30 AM sharp from Alewife Station (please arrive between 9:15-9:30). From there we will head down the Fitchburg Cutoff Bikepath to the wetlands area, where we will be given a brief introduction by a city staff member on the wetlands project, followed by a walk around the wetlands.

Next we will take a stroll down Cambridge Park Drive, discussing new and future developments in the area north of the MBTA commuter railway, known as “The Triangle”. We will then turn north past Alewife Station for a walk around Discovery Park and learn about new developments along Route 2. We will have a chance to pause in a mini-park for a break. The walk will conclude back at the entrance to Alewife Station on Steel Place. The total length of the walk is about 2.5 miles, which will take us around two hours at a leisurely pace.

There is no registration required, simply show up and enjoy an educational walk around one of the most interesting and different areas of Cambridge! Light snacks will be provided. For details about previous walks, click here.
