Haggerty School Playground

The Haggerty School playground will be undergoing renovations over the coming year. Playground improvements will include:

  • New play equipment reinforcing climbing and balancing
  • Group swings
  • Fencing improvements
  • New playing surface
  • Seating for groups
  • CitySprouts garden
  • Landscaping improvements

Haggerty School Design Concept Plan

July 2015

Crews will mobilize at the project area during the month of July. The contractor will erect temporary construction fencing to secure the site. Fencing will be added or shifted as needed. The staging area will housed on Lawn Court.

June 25, 2014 Public Meeting

On June 25, 2014 the third public meeting was held at the Haggerty School Multi Purpose Room at 100 Cushing Street, Cambridge to review and discuss the concept plan for a renovated Haggerty School Playground. With suggested changes agreed upon, the playground will be scheduled for construction this coming year.

The City's Contractor, JNJ Sacca, will begin reconstructing the park during the month of July. The project will continue into winter 2015, weather permitting.

What to Expect During Construction

  • General work hours will be 7 A. M. to 4 P. M., Monday thru Friday
  • Truck Deliveries
  • "No Parking" signs will be posted 24 hours in advance of the work
  • During days with inclement weather, crews may not be on site
  • Equipment, such as excavators, dump trucks, saws and other equipment will be needed to complete the project
