Useful Data Links
Can't find the information your looking for on the Cambridge Community Development Department web site? Try following one of the these links to other internet sources of demographic and socioeconomic data:
- 1990 and 2000 Census Data: Data from the most recent U. S. Census is available through the American Factfinder web site hosted by the U. S. Census Bureau. Other data sets available include results from the 1990 Census, American Community Survey, 1997 Economic Census and population estimates. Data is available at the city, zip code and census tract level, among others.
- American Community Survey: In response to concerns about currency of data and cost, the Census Bureau is replacing the socioeconomic information from the decennial census long form questionnaire with the results of the American Community Survey (ACS). The ACS is a sample based survey that determines the distribution of characteristics in a population. The ACS is not designed as a source of population size. ACS results are reported both as quantities and percentages. Quantities are based on the Census Bureau's current population estimate program.
