Population Demographics

The United States Census

Unless otherwise noted, the population demographics tables derive from the results of the nationwide population census conducted every tenth year by the U. S. Census Bureau. The tables here present data from the 1990 and 2000 decennial censuses. Note that income data is always collected for the full calendar year preceding the census.

Profiles

Census Bureau profiles include four tables that provide data about various demographic, social, economic, and housing characteristics. Profiles include both 100-percent data and sample data from Census 2000. There are four tables in the Demographic Profile, labeled (DP-1 thru DP-4). For Census 2000 data, the DP-1 table is available as the Summary File 1 (SF1) profile, and the four together are available as the Summary File 3 (SF3) profile. These files are in PDF format and require use of the free Adobe Acrobat viewer.
