Cambridge Business Assistance Info Session

  • Description: Staff from the city's Economic Development Division will discuss the variety of programs that the city offers to residents and business owners interested in starting or growing their business. Steps to Starting Your Own Business

Best Retail Practices Workshop

  • Description: This workshop is Part One of the 3-part Best Retail Practices Program. This workshops is free to all Cambridge retailers, restaurant owners, and storefront services businesses. City staff will work with participants, sharing best retail practices in retail interior and exterior design, marketing, and provide information on Cambridge retail programs. Businesses will also learn about eligibility for Part 2, the One-to-One In-store Consultations and Part 3, the Grant Program and the application process for both. Presented by the City of Cambridge.

Business Finance and Accounting Basics

Massachusetts Department of Revenue's Small Business Tax Workshop

  • Date: Tuesday, October 21, 2014
  • Time: 10:00 A.M. - 12:00 P.M.

  • Description: This workshop is designed for the tax novice. Topics include registering your business with the DOR, meeting employer responsibilities, reporting business income, filing sales and use tax returns, sales tax responsibilities and more. Restaurant Start Up Assistance

QuickBooks Boot Camp

  • Date: Tuesday, October 28, 2014
  • Time: 9:00 A.M. - 4:00 P.M.
  • Location: Cambridge City Hall Annex, 344 Broadway, 2nd floor Community Room
  • Description: This intensive, one day course will cover how to set up and maintain a financial bookkeeping system using QuickBooks. This workshops will also cover how to enter data from non-QuickBooks point of sales systems, enter and pay bills, run and understand basic financial statements and run reporting features that are needed to make day-to-day financial decisions. Computers will be provided to the first ten eligible participants, but others are encouraged to bring their own, with QuickBooks software. Presented by the Center for Women and Enterprise.
