City-Sponsored Bike Racks
As part of an ongoing effort to encourage bicycling and walking, the City has installed hundreds of post-and-ring bicycle racks all over the city:

Interested in Having a Bike Rack Installed?
Use this form
if you would like to suggest a location on public property (e.g., on a sidewalk or at a park)
where you would like to see a rack. Staff will evaluate the site for placement, and space and
other constraints permitting, will put a rack in during the next available round of installations.
Bicycle Parking on the Public Way
The City has recently revised its regulations regarding bicycle parking on the public way. For these purposes, the public way primarily means city sidewalks, but also includes public plazas and parks. The principal intent of these regulations is two-fold: first, to try to ensure that short-term parking for bicyclists is available in the commercial districts, and second, to ensure that bicycles are parked in a safe and secure manner.
