Enhanced Bus Stop Signage Information Project

As a pilot project, Community Development has been working on design and installation of improved informational signage at bus stops. The initial pilot area was Concord Avenue. A second project expanded the pilot area to include Braodway. At several of these MBTA stops, you can now find displays with bus schedules and area maps. The signage is adapted from trail maps designed to fit over ski-lift lap bars. In this urban application, the "tubes" encasing the maps have been mounted vertically on signposts, and allow the user to raise the sign to eye level, and rotate it to find the schedule, map, or information needed.
