115-117 Rindge Avenue

115 Rindge Ave

Heading Home, Inc., purchased an existing single-family home located at 115-117 Rindge Avenue. This large home was converted into 14 units of supportive single-room occupancy (SRO) housing for disabled formerly homeless women.

The City of Cambridge Human Services Department identified a need for housing for women who were moving through the continuum of shelter options and were ready to move from transitional to permanent housing. The shortage of permanent supportive housing meant that these women were unable to progress to more stable housing and open up space for others waiting for shelter. Heading Home, Inc., a provider of shelter and permanent  housing for men, women and families, stepped in to find a suitable property to help alleviate this shortage.

Heading Home currently owns and operates a similar property at 479-481 Concord Avenue, known as the Duley House. The property on Rindge Avenue was developed as a similar facility, with 24 hour on-site supportive management and service provision. The moderate rehab was completed and fully occupied in April 2015.

Construction was completed and the property fully occupied in April 2015. No further updates will be made to this project page.

The project will contain 14 single-room occupancy units, with shared bathrooms and kitchen.
