The Economic Development Division works with the Center for Women & Enterprise, Cambridge Community Television (CCTV), Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and local organizations to provide business development programs and services to Cambridge residents, entrepreneurs, and businesses.

Please note - classes may be cancelled or postponed due to weather or lack of registration. Please call the Division at 617-349-4637 day-of to check the status of a workshop. 

October 2017

Speed Mentoring Clinic

  • Date: Thursday, October 12, 2017
  • Time: 9:00 A.M. - 11:30 A.M. 
  • Location: Cambridge City Hall Annex, 2nd floor, 344 Broadway, Cambridge, MA
  • Description:Get an opportunity to meet with up to four small business experts and get your questions answered in one morning! Select up to four topics you would like to discuss with an expert when you register. Each appointment lasts 30 minutes. Expertise areas include: marketing, legal, insurance, zoning/licensing, finance, operations, HR, and more! Presented by the Center for Women and Enterprise.

Search Engine Optimization

  • Date: Tuesday, October 17, 2017

  • Location: Cambridge Community Television Computer Lab, 438 Massachusetts Ave, Cambridge, MA
  • Description: This is a class about how to get your website to the top of Google Search. We will focus on On-Page and Off-Page SEO. Have you ever wondered why you are not #1 on Google? Attend this class and not only find out why your website isn't #1, but what steps you can take to earn that position. Prerequisite: You must either work on your own website, or actively serve as an administrator for an existing business, organization, or charity website. Workshop instructor: Ted Debenttencourt. This class will be filmed.

  • Description: Drop-in sessions provide an opportunity for you to get one-on-one assistance and to have all your social media and web questions answered by a professional. No appointment is necessary, but registration is recommended to ensure space. Instructor: Ted Debenttencourt.

You will learn what to say and what you offer in an elevator pitch, learn effective ways to maximize how to connect with others, understand appropriate ways to follow up on connections, and create a personal networking action plan. Presented by the Center for Women and Enterprise.
