Self-Defense Course Offered to Women in Cambridge

The Cambridge Police Department is encouraging females who live or work in Cambridge to register for self-defense training for women which will take place during the month November.

Beginning on Saturday, November 2, 2013, self-defense classes will be held on four consecutive Saturdays and are offered FREE to any female Cambridge residents or employees.  Participants must attend all four sessions.

Classes will begin promptly at 9:00 a.m. and run until 12:00 p.m. at the Citywide Senior Center located at 806 Massachusetts Avenue in Cambridge.

                        November 23, 2013

Space is limited, and those interested should contact the Cambridge Police Community Relations Unit at 617-349-3236 or email CommunityRelations@CambridgePolice.org for more information and to reserve their spot.

The Cambridge Police Department’s Self-Defense Program is a comprehensive course for women which begins with information about awareness, prevention, risk reduction, and avoidance, before progressing to the basics of hands-on defense training.
