Demolition permits issued by the Inspectional Services Department are required to be signed-off by the Fire Department. The following information must be provided for demolition permit sign-off:  

• Dust Control Plan -  contractor or fire department provided dust control. (see below)
• Site Safety Plan - all hazards have been removed and site protected from public.
• Map  or drawing (8.5x11) indicating the structure to be demolished in relation to surrounding buildings. 

Demolition permits are signed-off at Fire Headquarters 491 Broadway second floor. Hours are M-F 8am-10am.

Contractor Dust Control

• Must file a $1000.00 bond with the CIty of Cambridge
• Must have permit issued by Water Department for use of hydrant
• Must provide own equipment (hose, nozzles, etc)
• Must pay $100/day flat rate for water use

Fire Department Dust Control

• Contractor must arrange for a paid fire detail. No additional permits and fees will apply. The fire department will provide all equipment. Click here for fire detail information.
