A permit shall be obtained from the Fire Department prior to using a torch or other heat producing device for the removal of paint or the application or removal of roofing material from any building or structure.

Permits must be applied for in person at Fire Headquarters 491 Broadway second floor
M-F 8am-10am

A fire extinguisher or water hose connected to an adequate water supply must be provided
The person doing the work shall remain on the premisis for one hour after each use of the heat producing device.
