On 9/26/08 at 6:41 AM, the manager of a Central Square store reported ongoing thefts of large quantities of newspaper bundles prior to opening.

On 9/26/08 at 8:03 AM, a reporting party stated that unknown person(s) removed all four tires from his motor vehicle. The motor vehicle was parked on Wright St.

 

 

Malicious Destruction

On 9/26/08 at 8:45 AM, a Rindge Ave. resident stated that her estranged husband flattened the tires on her 1996 Dodge Ram van sometime since midnight.

 

 

Credit Card Fraud

On 9/26/08 at 9:52 AM, a Transit Police Officer responded to the Lechmere MBTA Station for a reported affray. A preliminary investigation revealed that an employee of the Old Navy Store at the CambridgeSide Galleria Mall had taken a customer's visa debit card to fraudulently purchase a cell phone at the Mobile Solution Store. When the victim discovered the bankcard missing, she contacted her bank and was advised that an unauthorized purchase was made at the Mobile Solution Store. The victim later observed the suspect in possession of the Mobile Solution store bag at the Lechmere MBTA Station and confronted her about the unauthorized transaction. The suspect then returned the stolen visa debit card to the victim. When the victim confronted her about the unauthorized purchase, the suspect struck the victim in the chest area. The suspect then fled the scene and left all the unauthorized purchases including her old cell phone before the police arrived.

On 9/26/08 at 10:06 AM, a black male shoplifter was given a trespass notice by the employees of the Gap Store located at 613 Mass. Ave. He was observed taking a pair of pants off the hanger and walking out of the store with out paying. They did not want to prosecute at this time.

On 9/26/08 at 10:25 AM, a reporting party stated that while her motor vehicle was parked on Prescott St., an unknown smashed the passenger front window and stole her Garmin GPS from the glove box.

On 9/26/08 at 10:37 AM, a Verizon employee reported that unknown person(s) shattered the passenger side window of his Verizon truck and removed a black leather computer bag containing a Verzion laptop along with his personal iPod and personal mail. The victim reported that this incident occurred sometime between 10:30 AM and 10:35 AM, while his van was parked on Third Street.

On 9/26/08 at 10:49 AM, a reporting party stated that an unknown black male walked into a clothing store located on Mass. Ave. and asked to see a pair of alligator shoes and when the reporting party turned around, the suspect grabbed a San Remo suit and a Giorgio Armani tie.

On 9/26/08 at 11:06 AM, a resident of Pleasant St. reported that she had money, medication, and personal hygiene products stolen from her room on 9/22/08.

On 9/26/08 at 12:38 PM, a reporting party stated that sometime between 8:30 AM and 10:00 AM on 9/23/08, suspects entered her apartment on Ware Street with a key and opened a jewelry box, but it was empty. Nothing else was disturbed or missing.

On 9/26/08 at 12:54 PM, Michael Pereira, 19, of 13 Putnam Gardens, Cambridge MA was placed under arrest for violating the terms of a restraining order.

 

 

Operating A Motor Vehicle With A Revoked License

On 9/26/08 at 12:57 PM, Jerry Blue, 50, of 3 Gannett St., Dorchester MA was arrested at 512 Mass. Ave. for Operating A Motor Vehicle With A Revoked License and Possession of a Class D Substance after he was stopped for a marked lane violation.

On 9/26/08 at 1:27 PM, a Myrtle St. resident reported that while she was at work, an unknown person broke into her apartment via a rear window. She found her apartment ransacked and her laptop computer, cable, and checkbook were missing.

On 9/26/08 at 3:20 PM, a Cambridge resident reported that on 9/26/08 at approximately 2:25 PM, she had a verbal argument with her ex-boyfriend regarding some letters and poems he wanted to retrieve from her.

On 9/26/08 at 4:00 PM, an officer was traveling on Riverside Road when he observed an illegally parked motor vehicle. The officer queried the license plate, which was revoked for insurance cancellation. The vehicle was towed and a citation was given.

On 9/27/08 at 8:44 AM, a Cambridge resident called to report that her motor vehicle, which was parked on Ware St., was stolen sometime between 9:00 PM on 9/26/08 and 8:30 AM on 9/27/08.

On 9/27/08 at 11:30 AM, a reporting party stated that an unknown person(s) struck and damaged the left rear quarter panel of his motor vehicle while it was parked in the Fresh Pond Mall parking lot. The suspect vehicle did not stop to make owner/operator information known.

On 9/27/08 at 3:53 PM, a Cambridge Police Detective observed two people fighting at the corner of Broadway and Columbia St. Both parties were identified and sent on their way.

On 9/27/08 at 3:56 PM, a reporting party arrived at the police station and reported that on 9/26/08, unknown person(s) stole her daughter's cell phone from her bag while she was in gym class at CRLS.

On 9/27/08 at 4:05 PM, a Boston resident reported that while shopping at Sephora inside of the CambridgeSide Galleria, she was the victim of  "flimflam".  The suspect female left store with the victim's credit card information.

 

 

Operating a Motor Vehicle With A Suspended License

On 9/27/08 at 7:49 PM, a resident of Brattle St. was issued a criminal complaint for Operating a Motor Vehicle after License Suspension as a result of a motor vehicle crash on River St. and Memorial Drive.

On 9/27/08 at 8:23 PM, a Franklin Street resident's family member reported that, on 9/12/08 and 9/15/08, money was withdrawn from his uncle's account.

 

 

Assault and Battery

On 9/27/08 at 10:01 PM, an officer responded to the lower parking garage exit area of the CambridgeSide Galleria Mall because a disturbance was reportedly taking place. After performing an interview with several witnesses to the incident, it was learned that two males were involved in a verbal argument that culminated in one of the males grabbing the other by the throat and pushing him.

On 9/27/08 at 11:20 PM, an unknown Hispanic male, described as tall, muscular, with tattoos on both arms and wearing a dark green tank top, entered the Gourmet Express located at 1868 Mass. Ave. and threatened the clerk. As the suspect left, he damaged a Halls breath mint display case.

On 9/28/08 at 12:31 AM, Cambridge Police responded to a domestic dispute on Bishop Allen Dr. The dispute was only verbal and no violence was reported.

On 9/28/08 at 2:12 AM, Michael E. Cranley, 33, of 23 Elmcrest Rd., Wakefield, MA was arrested on Brookline St. at Erie St. for Operating Under the Influence of Liquor, Negligent Operation, Marked Lanes Violation, and Driving Over a Fire Hose.

On 9/28/08 at 2:17 AM, a Somerville resident was assaulted outside of the Porter Square Tavern at 1815 Massachusetts Avenue at approximately 2:15 AM.

On 9/28/08 at 2:35 AM, Cambridge Police units were dispatched to outside 313 Mass. Ave. on the report of a fight taking place at that location. When units arrived they spoke with four individuals who admitted to fighting over a taxicab.  During the altercation the front window of the University Stationery Company got smashed.

On 9/28/08 at 2:42 AM, Jonathan Goss, 17, of 10 Columbia Terrace #3 Cambridge MA, was arrested for a default warrant out of Quincy District Court.

On 9/28/08 at 3:10 AM, CPD units observed Lorenzo Harris, 49, of 35 Rossmore Rd., Somerville MA, breaking into a parked motor vehicle on Magazine St. by cutting through the roof. He was also found to be in possession of a class B drug and in possession of a treasury check that did not belong to him. He was placed under arrest.

On 9/28/08 at 8:06 AM, a New Jersey resident reported that sometime between 8:00 AM on 9/27/08 and 8:00 AM on 9/28/08, someone smashed the rear tail light on her parked motor vehicle while it was located on Concord Ave.

On 9/28/08 at 8:11 AM, a reporting party stated that at around 8:00 PM on 9/26/08, he was taking a nap on Albany St. near Mass. Ave. When he woke up, he noticed that his bag containing personal items had been rummaged through and prescription drugs were missing.

On 9/28/08 at 12:12 PM, officers responded to a Prospect Street apartment on the report of a domestic. Both parties were on scene upon arrival of the officers. There were neither signs nor allegations of violence.

On 9/28/08 at 12:35 PM, a Nahant resident reported that unknown person(s) gained access to his 2006 Mazda while it was parked in the driveway of 12 Murray Hill Road between 9:15PM on 9/27/08 and 9:30 AM on 9/28/08. Missing from the vehicle glove box was a Garmin GPS and an iPod charger.

On 9/28/08 at 1:32 PM, a security guard of the Fresh Pond Apartments reported that a resident threatened to shoot him. The victim is concerned that the suspect will carry out his threat.

On 9/28/08 at 3:03 PM, an officer was working a paid detail in uniform at the Galleria Mall when security notified him that a disturbance erupted on the second floor. The suspect slapped a customer of the store after asking her to move. The victim was shopping with her two children and had a visible red mark on her right cheek. The suspect admitted that he struck the victim and felt he did nothing wrong because he told her to move. The suspect was informed that he would receive a summons in the mail.

On 9/28/08 at 7:02 PM, a Cambridge resident stated that an unknown driver of an unknown motor vehicle drove up on the lawn and destroyed his fence and a 50-year-old bush. There was no witness of the accident.

On 9/28/08 at 7:50 PM, a Cambridge resident reported that three unknown teenagers broke his white ceramic rabbit out in front of his residence and fled in an unknown direction.

On 9/28/08 at 9:11 PM, officers were dispatched to a Cambridge residence on the report of a domestic. Upon investigation and interviewing with all parties and witnesses involved, Monique Alcindor, 34, of 42 Lincoln Way, Cambridge MA was placed under arrest for domestic assault and battery.

 

 

Annoy Person of Opposite Sex

On 9/28/08 at 10:51 PM, an Everett resident reported that while operating her motor vehicle on River St. in Cambridge, a second vehicle being operated by a white male, began to talk to her through her open window. When the reporting person closed her window and attempted to drive away, the other vehicle followed her, then cut her off, not allowing her to pass.  The male operator began yelling at the reporting person, and then threw an empty plastic cup at her vehicle.
