On 9/29/08 at 12:59 AM, a Cambridge resident reported discovering an unknown white male in his apartment. Upon being sighted, the male climbed over his couch and back outside his side window and fled on foot. The resident exited the building and discovered the male in an alley abutting the building. Upon being sighted, the suspect climbed a fence and ran toward Centre Street. A suspect was pursued by police, detained and positively identified by the victim as the suspect, Anthony Matanza, 39, of 30 Riverdale Ave., Newton MA. He was the subsequently placed under arrest.

On 9/29/08 at 12:40 PM, officers responded to the ATT store located inside of the CambridgeSide galleria, for a report of an assault in progress. Upon arrival, units spoke with both the reporting party and the suspect and were able to restore order. The suspect was checked for warrants and was trespassed from the store.

On 9/29/08 at 1:32 PM, an officer on routine patrol observed a white Hyundai take an illegal left hand turn from Prospect St. onto Mass. Ave. The vehicle was pulled over at Mass. Ave and Essex St. A check of the operator Jeffrey Beale's license status through ECC revealed that Mr. Beale had an outstanding warrant out of East Boston District Court. Jeffery Beale, 41, of 63 Beaver St., Framingham MA, was placed under arrest for his warrant and issued a citation for the illegal left turn.

On 9/29/08 at 4:32 PM, an officer was dispatched by CambridgeSide Galleria security to the H&M store for a shoplifter in custody. An H&M loss prevention officer observed Archana Basnet, 21, of 33 Temple St., Somerville MA, select multiple clothing items from the sales floor and place them into a bag she was carrying. She subsequently exited the store without paying for the items. The items were recovered from Basnet's bag, inventoried, and then returned to H&M. Basnet was placed under arrest and transported to CPD for booking.

On 9/29/08 at 4:44 PM, Paul King, 46, of 240 Albany St. was arrested for Drinking in Public after he was observed sitting on a bench in front of 526 Mass. Ave. emptying a bottle of Ruble Vodka into a half empty bottle of Nantucket Nectars Orange Juice and drinking from the bottle.

His complaint was that she has been calling him by phone and knocking on his door. He doesn’t answer the phone and she doesn’t leave any message but he sees her phone number on caller ID.
