An inquiry on the motor vehicle’s vin number revealed that the motor vehicle was unregistered and it belonged to a female out of Chelsea, MA.

One of the operators, Mr. Jonathan Goss, 17, of 10 Columbia Terrace, Cambridge MA, was found to have an active warrant out of Brockton District Court for Operating a Motor Vehicle With a Suspended License. Mr. Goss was subsequently placed under arrest.

The officer ordered Mr. Horner to dump out the alcoholic beverage as he tried to gather his information. The defendant refused to comply and started drinking from the open bottle. The officer placed him under arrest for Drinking in Public.

On 10/5/08 at 6:04 PM, Gary Maiben, 47, of 116 Norfolk St., Cambridge was arrested and charged with the following: Assault by Means of a Dangerous Weapon for swinging his cane at a Lt. of the fire department and missing, A&B on a Police Officer for aggressively grabbing an officer’s shoulder and ripping a radio off of the officer’s jacket causing it to tear, Resisting Arrest for failing to obey the officer’s commands to put his hands behind his back after being told he was under arrest, Disorderly Conduct for purposely blocking the alley in between Central Kitchen and Lot 5 causing pedestrians to gather in groups to see what was happening and vehicles in the street to slow down, and Possession of Class B Drug for being in possession of a tiny plastic bag with a white powder like substance inside that was revealed to be cocaine.

On 10/5/08 at 7:04 PM, an officer was dispatched to a business on Mount Auburn Street. Upon arrival, the officer was informed that a suspect(s) stole the victim's cell phone from the counter and agreed to return it for $100.00. The victim told his friend to go to the Science Center and gave him a description of the suspects to see if they were at that location. The victim’s friend followed the suspects until they were stopped by CPD. One of the juvenile suspects dropped a double-edged knife to the ground. The officer responded to the scene and identified the two juveniles stopped as the persons that were observed on the surveillance footage taking the cell phone. Found on one of the juveniles were two baggies of marijuana. The victims cell phone was found near the suspects on the ground. Both juveniles from Somerville MA were placed under arrest.

On 10/5/08 at 9:07 PM, an officer received a radio dispatch for an armed robbery that had just occurred on Blackstone St. The suspect description was three black teens one female and two male. The suspects were last seen fleeing on Blackstone St. heading toward River St. The victims stated that while walking on Blackstone St. toward Western Ave., they realized that three individuals were following them. When they moved to the side to let them pass, the three black teens stopped in front of them. One of the suspects produced a handgun and demanded the victim’s belongings. The suspects then turned and fled up Blackstone St. toward River St. with the victims’ handbags.
