One party attacked the other as they exchanged words in the hallway, just outside the court room, after arguing over a modification in payments.

On 07/28/10 at 9:24 AM, 41-year-old Richard C. Corthell of 4 Griffin St. Salem, MA was stopped on Garden St. for a marked lane violation. As a result of the stop it was determined that Corthell did not have a license and that he had outstanding warrants from Haverhill District Court for Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Threat to Commit a Crime, Attempt to Commit a Crime, and Malicious Destruction of Property. Richard Corthell was placed under arrest.

On 07/28/10 at 2:34 PM, 46-year-old Mario DaPonte of 15 Edge Hill Road in Quincy, MA was arrested for Disorderly Conduct. DaPonte became very aggressive after he was approached by officers in Vellucci Park, following a fight call that had occurred at Cambridge Street and Prospect Street. DaPonte was very uncooperative and threatened to assault the officer with a punch to the face after being asked to sit down.

On 07/28/10 at 37-year-old James Powell of 306 Apt. #1 Commonwealth Ave Boston,MA was arrested for A&B with a Dangerous Weapon (Shod Foot), A&B on a Police Officer, Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (bottle), Disorderly Conduct, Resisting Arrest, and Civil Rights Violation. It was reported by multiple witnesses that Powell was swinging a bottle at people while shouting racial slurs. Upon the first officer's arrival, Powell punched the officer, kicked the officer, and refused to place his hands behind his back.

On 07/28/10 at 7:00 PM, police responded to the YMCA at 820 Massachusetts Avenue on a report of a past assault. Victim stated that while he was sitting in his room another resident was yelling outside of his door. When he went to the door and opened it a verbal argument ensued. During the argument the suspect allegedly spit in the victims face and threw a plastic bottle at him.
