Board of Library Trustees Minutes

A regular meeting of the Board of Library Trustees was held on Monday, April 2, 2001 in the Director’s Office of the Main Library. The following members of the Board of Library Trustees were present:

• Janet Axelrod
• William Barry
• Mr. Andre Mayer
• James Roosevelt
• Nancy Woods

also present:

• Susan Flannery, Director of Libraries
• Philecia Harris, Assistant Director
• Marilyn Gagalis, Administrative Assistant

Minutes of the March meeting were approved.

Correspondence was acknowledged.

Ms. Flannery identified the FY 02 Budget requests and informed the Board that the Library’s budget hearing before the City Council is scheduled for May 1, 2001 at 10:30 a.m.

The planning for the Galbraith Lecture Series was addressed . Andre Mayer presented Board members with a draft plan. Further discussion will continue at the next meeting.

Board members also discussed potential dates for a Trustees’ retreat and planning meeting. All Board members will provide a list of available dates to Ms. Flannery.

After completion of all editing, the Board decided to post its strategic plan on the Library’s web site.

There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was adjourned at 9:45 p.m.

The next meeting of the Board will be on 2001 at 6:30 p.m. in the Main Library.
