A quarterly planning meeting of the Board of Library Trustees was held on Monday, January 14, 2002 in the Director’s Office of the Main Library. The following members of the Board of Library Trustees were present:

The meeting was called to order at 7:20 P. M.

Topics of discussion:

Ms. Axelrod reported on her efforts to contact Senator Clinton regarding the Galbraith Lecture.  Although she has e-mailed her and faxed her office, we have not had a response.  She will make a few more attempts and then seek out Prof. Galbraith’s assistance.  Mr. Roosevelt suggested that Ms. Axelrod contact her scheduler rather than Senator Clinton directly.  The board brainstormed as to other individuals who might be excellent speakers and have a connection to Prof. Galbraith.

Ms. Flannery updated the board on the City Manager’s guidelines for the FY03 budget.

Ms. Flannery gave the board an update on some challenges the library is facing in the provision of public access to the Internet.  The board offered suggestions as to how the situation might be improved.
