Board of Library Trustees Minutes

A regular meeting of the Board of Library Trustees was held on Tuesday, June 6, 2000 in the Director’s Office of the Main Library. The following members of the Board of Library Trustees were present:

• Ms. Janet Axelrod
• Mr. Andre Mayer
• Ms. Nancy Woods
• William Barry
• James Roosevelt

also present:

• Susan Flannery, Director of Libraries
• Philecia Harris, Assistant Director

Minutes of the May meeting were approved.

The Board of Trustees voted unanimously to thank the Friends of the Library for their efforts on the Garden Tour.

Nancy Woods suggested that the Board discuss changes to the Trustees section of the library’s web site.

Susan Flannery updated the Trustees about staff meetings and how we are following through on the suggestions of Steve Miller. The Trustees will discuss the strategic plan further next month.

Daryl Mark and Joan Stern discussed at length library/school collaboration and the roles each play. Future collaboratives are already in the planning stages.

Board members discussed pending legislation regarding schools and libraries.

There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was adjourned at 9:45 p.m. The next meeting of the Board will be on Monday, September 11, 2000 at 7:30 p.m. in the Main Library.
