A regular meeting of the Board of Library Trustees was held on Monday, June 10, 2002 in the Sakey Lecture Hall of the Main Library.  The following members of the Board of Library Trustees were present:

Minutes of the March and April meetings were approved.

Correspondence from Keith Michael Fiels and a City Council Resolution was acknowledged.

Susan Flannery introduced Anders Dahlgren to the Board of Library Trustees.  Mr. Dahlgren asked specific questions of the board members.  He also asked for their visions of the expanded library. Patricia Payne, Library Director for Lesley College voiced strong support for clear, articulate signage which would provide a clear understanding of library services and materials to all.  Janet Axelrod spoke about the importance of using natural light and providing open space.   All board members were in support of these suggestions.

It was announced that a Design Advisory Committee had been selected by The City Manager.  The first meting of this group will be June 27^th.  

Ms. Axelrod reported that she had still not received an answer from Hillary Clinton with regards to the Galbraith Lecture. Mr. Roosevelt offered to assist Ms. Axelrod in contacting Hillary Clintons approval.  The Board should get back to Ms Flannery within the next two weeks if there are any problems with these dates.

Ms. Flannery updated the board on personnel changes.

There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was adjourned at 9:30 p.m.  The next meeting of the Board will be on Monday, September 16, 2002 at 6:30 p.m. in the Main Library.
