A regular meeting of the Board of Library Trustees was held on Monday, December 8 at 7:30 at the Collins Branch Library, 64 Aberdeen Avenue, Cambridge.

The Board expressed its pleasure with holding a meeting at one of the
branch libraries and encouraged Ms. Flannery to do it on a regular basis.
Ms. Flannery presented the Board with a revised letter of agreement between the Board and the Cambridge Community Foundation. The draft was approved with the following amendment to Section 6c after the words "or if the Foundation dissolves": insert "or if the agreement is terminated by either signatory". Ms. Flannery will inform the Cambridge Community Foundation of the Board's action.
Ms. Flannery informed the Board that the City Manager had advertised for proposals from qualified teams to seek out and evaluate various sites, including the current one, for a new Main Library for the City. A committee is being formed to select the best team for the job. Ms. Flannery will serve on the committee.
The Friends of the Library Book Sale was an unqualified success. Over 200 individuals attended and the Friends netted over $500.
Camdele Construction Co. of Salem Street, Boston was selected as the
contractor for the Rotary Technology Center at the Central Square Branch.
The City is waiting for Camdele to post their construction bond.
The next meeting of the Board of Library Trustees will be Monday, January
5, 1998 at 7:30 PM in the Director's Office.
