Board of Library Trustees Minutes

A regular meeting of the Board of Library Trustees was held on Monday, December 6, 1999 in the Director's Office of the Main Library. The following members of the Board of Library Trustees were present:

• Ms. Janet Axelrod
• Mr. John Good
• Mr. Andre Mayer
• Mr. James Roosevelt, Jr.
• Ms. Nancy Woods

also present:

• Susan Flannery, Director of Libraries
• Philecia Harris, Assistant Director
• Marilyn Gagalis, Administrative Assistant

The minutes of the October meeting were approved.

Board Members discussed the need for providing balanced information on the Main Library building project to the community as well as ways to fulfill this need.

Ms. Flannery announced that the new sign has been installed at the Main Library. All library buildings with the exception of Valente and Boudreau now have the new signs.

In a discussion concerning the O'Neill Branch/Fitzgerald School construction, Ms. Flannery informed board members that the branch library will be moved into the new Fitzgerald School gym in June of 2000 and remain there until the completion of the project.

Ms. Flannery provided the board with the revised Collection Development Policy. It was unanimously approved.

Nancy Woods reported on the MLTA/MFOL Conference and suggested the Board of Library Trustees request a copy of the film shown to conference participants.

Ms. Flannery informed the Trustees that all new City Councillors would be invited for a library tour.

John Good requested that letters of commendation be sent to Jessica Rabban for the O'Neill Branch coloring calendar.

The next meeting of the Board of Library Trustees will be on Monday, January 10, 2000 at 7:30 p.m.

There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was adjourned at 10:00p.m.
