O'Neill Branch The O'Neill Branch Library is located at 70 Rindge Avenue (view map of the area), attached to the front of the Peabody School. The library is a neighborhood meeting point for many children and families as well as adult patrons. The O'Neill Branch houses an expert staff that works to create a friendly and inviting environment for all library users. To this end the library features an array of programs, services and outreach projects for both children and adults (view this month's events). Of special interest are the weekly Toddler Time on Monday mornings (stories and songs for ages 0-3) and the Adult Book Discussion Group which meets monthly during the school year. In addition to wonderful adult, young adult and children's book collections, we offer a selection of DVDs, children's videos, juvenile, young adult and adult audio-books and a variety of magazines. We also offer free museum passes to area museums for all Minuteman library card holders. A typical day at the O'Neill Branch Library begins with patrons lined up outside the door to access our four Internet computer terminals. There are numerous storytimes in the mornings for area daycares, school classes and members of the public as well as evening programs such as PJ storytime in conjunction with the North Cambridge Center for Families or receptions for local artists from NOCA (North Cambridge Art Association). For the convenience of our patrons who work during business hours, the O'Neill Branch is open until 8pm on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. |
