Daytime Book Discussion Group

Where: Conference Room behind the stacks in the gym, Main Library, 359 Broadway.

When: The group meets the first Thursday of the month from 10:30 - 11:30 A.M. Selections are available one month in advance, given out on the Thursday of the previous meeting before the next discussion, and then books will be held at the Main Library circulation desk after that for new members. Books can also be requested through any Minuteman Library.

Reading Interests: The Daytime Book Discussion Group is open to all adults. The selection of reading material is quite eclectic and comprises fiction, non-fiction, classics, memoirs, and short stories. A sampling of what we have read includes short stories by Annie Proulx, Capote's Breakfast at Tiffany's, Life of Pi by Yann Martel, The Path: A One Mile Walk through the Universe by Chet Raymo, E. Spencer's The Light in the Piazza, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, and essays by Kurt Vonnegut, A Man without a Country.

Requirements: The group is casual and informal. Participants will read the selection before each meeting; but a "drop-in" visit by anyone who has not read the book beforehand is welcomed. Being on time for the discussion is always appreciated!
