Fresh Pond Reservation Drainage and Habitat Improvements Project

Project Goal: Mitigate Flooding and Erosion

Both Fresh Pond Reservation and the Fresh Pond Golf Course suffer from ponding of surface water and flooding in this area.  By increasing wetland buffers and enhancing the woodlands, we will be able to naturally amplify the ability of the environment to absorb rainwater, alleviating much of the flooding.

Currently, much of surface water coming down the slope from the golf course clubhouse ends up as puddles on the Perimeter Road and the golf course.   Any time this happens, it is a potential hazard for Fresh Pond Reservoir.  The water quality swale at the southern end of the golf course will collect rainwater and move it towards Stream C.
