Dog Rules and Regulations at Fresh Pond Reservation

All dogs over the age of 6 months must be licensed and wear a valid license tag on a collar or harness.

Dogs wearing a valid medallion may go unleashed at Fresh Pond Reservation provided they have been trained to follow oral commands and are kept off mowed, grassy areas.

Dogs without medallions are required to be on a leash of no more than 6 feet in length while at Fresh Pond Reservation.

Dogs are not allowed to charge, harm or harass people or other dogs.  They may not chase or hunt wildlife.

Dogs are not permitted to swim in Fresh Pond Reservoir.

All dog waste must be removed and placed in waste containers provided.  As a courtesy, Mutt Mitts are provided for use at various sites on the Reservation.

All animal bites whether domestic or wild must be reported to the Cambridge Animal Commission for follow up at (617) 349-4376.  In the case of a dog bite of another dog or person, the owner of the biting dog is required to provide their name and contact information as well as rabies vaccination status.
