      NOTICE OF A PUBLIC HEARING Removal of Public Shade Trees City of Cambridge, Department of Public Works Pursuant to Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 87, Sections 3 and 4, a public hearing will be held on Wednesday, June 18th, 2014 at 5:30 pm at 147 Hampshire St, Cambridge, Mass., to consider the removal of the following public tree(s): 1. 164 Hampshire St – Removal of 12.6” ash tree due to wounding along trunk. Location will be replanted 2. 186 Hampshire St – Removal of 10” ash tree due to wounding along trunk. Location will be replanted. 3. 359 Cambridge St – Removal of 5.7” ash tree due to structural issues and wounding along trunk. Location will be replanted. 4. 1360 Cambridge St – Removal of 8.6” ash tree due to structural issues. Location will be replanted. 5. 55 Otis St (on Third St) – Removal of 2 ash trees (9.7” and 10.5”) due to canopy dieback. Location will be replanted. 6. 149 Windsor St – Removal of 11.5” ash tree due to wounding along branches. Location will be replanted. 7. Columbia St (at Washington St) – Removal of 2 ash trees (12.2” and 13.4”) due to wounding along trunk. Location will be replanted. 8. Opposite 64 Prospect St – Removal of 10.8” ash tree due to canopy dieback and wounding along trunk. 9. Opposite 74 Prospect St – Removal of 2 ash trees (4.5” and 5”) due to structural issues. 10. Opposite 80 Prospect St – Removal of 12.1” ash tree due to wounding at base of trunk. 11. 102 Prospect St – Removal of 7.5” ash tree due to canopy dieback. Location will be replanted. 12. 114 Prospect St – Removal of 9.5” ash tree due to structural issues. Location will be replanted. The tree(s) identified above have been posted for public inspection. Any objections to their removal must be submitted in writing to the City Arborist, prior to or during the hearing.
