Just for you and the baby! Enjoy time together with other parents, caregivers, and babies to learn, play, and develop language and motor skills.
Come prepared to sit on the floor one-on-one with your pre-walking baby in your lap. This program can accomodate 30 people. Tickets are available on a first-come, first served basis on the day of the program. The entire party must be present to receive a ticket. It's a weekly block party! Join friends to design and build amazing LEGO structures. Get inspired by our monthly theme or let your imagination run wild!
We will take our creations apart at the end of each session. The Children's Room has plenty of LEGO pieces, so you don't need to bring your own. LEGO pieces are choking hazards for young children. This two-hour class, offered in collaboration with CCTV, covers the basics of digital storytelling. We will discuss the process of turning genealogical research into audiovisual storytelling, from concept to completion. Learn how to develop a narrative and weave sound and visuals into your script. By addressing artistic as well as practical concerns, the class will introduce you to the challenges and rewards of digital filmmaking as a means of documenting one’s family history and will prepare you for the production of your short film. Registration is mandatory. Prerequisite: You must have taken the library's Beginner's Genealogy Workshop Series.
