King Open Extended Day provides a positive and safe out-of-school time setting that promotes the social, emotional and intellectual development of children in kindergarten through 6th grades. A unique collaboration between the Cambridge Department of Human Service Programs and Public Schools, we serve King Open students and families and facilitate a two-way relationship between the school-day and afterschool experiences.

King Open Extended Day believes in and fosters strong connections between home, school and community. We work with school staff, families and community resources to support the strengths and meet the needs of each child. Through project-based learning, hands-on, cross-grade and enrichment activities, field trips and other fun and engaging experiences, we encourage children to explore the world around them and develop their interests and talents while nurturing their academic and interpersonal growth.
