Closings and Alerts

  • Cambridge Snow Emergency Parking Ban in effect Monday, Jan. 26 at 4 p.m. Streets signed "No Parking During a Snow Emergency" will be ticketed and towed until the ban is lifted Click here to view facilities that provide free parking during snow emergencies 
  • All City buildings and programs will close at 6 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 26 and will be closed on Tuesday, Jan. 27 
  • All public meetings for Monday, Jan. 26 and Tuesday, Jan. 27 have been cancelled, including City Council and Planning Board meetings. 
  • Cambridge Public Schools will be closed on Tuesday, Jan. 27
  • Trash and recycling collection has been cancelled for Tuesday Jan. 27.  Pick-up schedule will be one day behind for the rest of week. 
  • Hubway will close all stations Monday, Jan. 26 at 7 p.m.
  • MBTA services will be cancelled for Tuesday, Jan. 27
  • Power outages should be reported directly to NSTAR at 800-592-2000

      Improved Short-Term Parking Coming to Kendall Square

      Beginning on January 12, 2015, the hours of operation for metered street parking will expand from 6 PM to 8 PM, mirroring the meter operations in Harvard Square. The expanded hours will discourage vehicles from using short-term metered space as overnight parking during peak evening business hours. The hourly rate will remain unchanged.
