Patriots' Day Observance

The City of Cambridge’s Department of Veterans’ Services will hold their annual Patriot’s Day Observance on Monday, April 17th on the Cambridge Common.  The Observance will begin at 10:30 AM.
 
Philip Anderson, President, of the Cambridge Veterans' Organization will serve as Master of Ceremonies. Mayor E. Denise Simmons will extend the city’s greetings. Zelma Bostik, United States Navy, will deliver the keynote address.

The event will be highlighted by a reenactment of Patriot William Dawes, Jr., historic horseback ride from Boston to Cambridge alerting the colonists of the British threat of 1775.  Patriot Dawes, dressed in colonial garb, will deliver the alert to Mayor Simmons.

A Cambridge Rindge & Latin School Drama student, will read the Governor’s Patriots’ Day Proclamation. A CRLS music student will sing the National Anthem and God Bless America.
