We are located in the Fire Headquarters Complex near Harvard Square, Cambridge.
This complex houses Fire Headquarters, Engine 1, Ladder 1, and the Fire Rescue
companies at 491 Broadway as well as the adjoining Emergency Communications
Center (ECC) facility at 489 Broadway.
The Center can be reached by car by
passing through Harvard Square northbound on Massachusetts Avenue and bearing
right though the tunnel underpass. Stay in the center lane and bear right onto
Broadway upon exiting the underpass. Pull over into the parking area of the fire
complex about 50 yards before the traffic light (at the intersection of Broadway
and Quincy).
Parking is very restricted. On-street parking (at a meter) can sometimes be found on Cambridge,
Quincy or Broadway within 1-2 blocks of the Center.
The Center can also be reached by
taking the MBTA (subway) Red Line to Harvard Square and walking about 7 minutes
through Harvard Yard to the north side of the Yard where the Center is located
between the Yard and Memorial Hall.
