What is the GLBT Commission?

The mission of the Cambridge GLBT Commission is to advocate for a culture of respect and to monitor progress toward equality of all persons with regard to sexual orientation and gender identity. We are committed to promoting and monitoring policies and practices that have a positive effect on the health, welfare, and safety of all persons who live, visit, or work in the City of Cambridge with regard to sexual orientation and gender identity.

The main focus of the Commission is:

Seniors Health Care Report

The GLBT Commission has just completed phase one of the Seniors Health Care project which is to assess Policies and Practices in Health Care Organizations in Cambridge (Hospitals, Medical care facilities, and Nursing Homes) with respect to LGBTQ Seniors. The overall objective is to learn about how these organizations are addressing this and build a relationship with the organizations to help them improve where indicated. We obtained some very interesting results; the report linked to here has an Executive Summary and lots of details.

Here is the report: Senior Health Care Report
