Mid Cambridge Neighborhood Conservation District Commission Seeks New Members
The Cambridge City Manager is seeking individuals to serve as members or alternates on the Mid Cambridge Neighborhood Conservation District Commission. The Commission meets monthly to review alterations to buildings in the Neighborhood Conservation District, the purpose of which is to protect and conserve the historic and architectural character of the Mid Cambridge neighborhood, an area of approximately 2,000 properties bordered by Prospect Street to the east, Prescott Street to the west, Kirkland Street and the Somerville city line to the north, and Massachusetts Avenue to the south.
Members of the Commission must be residents or property owners in the district
and be able to demonstrate knowledge and concern for the improvement, conservation,
and enhancement of the district. Appointments to the Commission are made by
the City Manager with regard to the diversity of viewpoints in the district.
Minority candidates are particularly encouraged to apply. Individuals interested
in being considered should send a letter of interest and a resume by June 2,
