White Ribbon Day Pledge

Join us as we take the White Ribbon Day Pledge* on and continue the conversation about what men can do as part of the #MeToo Movement to work to end sexual harassment and gender-based violence Thursday, March 1, 4:30-6:30 p.m., Cambridge Rindge and Latin School Media Cafe,1670 Cambridge St., Cambridge.

Mending Cambridge is an initiative that engages men in challenging stereotypes around masculinity and becoming active allies in working to end gender-based violence. Mending Cambridge is a partnership between the City of Cambridge’s Domestic and Gender-Based Violence Prevention Initiative and the Cambridge Public Health Department.

We continue to see new revelations – every day – about sexual harassment, assault and violence by men abusing their power, authority, or fame. Duane de Four – an educator, media critic, and activist with more than 20 years of experience facilitating violence prevention, masculinity, and sexual health focused discussions – will facilitate the discussion as we try to identify ways for men and boys to take action to change the culture of discrimination, domination and violence directed against women and girls – and that robs men and boys of their humanity.

*The White Ribbon Pledge simply states: “From this day forward, I promise to be part of the solution in ending violence against women and all gender-based violence.” For more information on the history behind the pledge – and on White Ribbon Day, visit http://whiteribbonday.janedoe.org/.
