Other Licenses

License Commission

The City of Cambridge handles a number of other types of Licenses/Permits: 

  • Amusement Licenses pursuant to and in accordance with Massachusetts General Law c. 140, § 181. The process can take from four to eight weeks depending on whether the event will occur on public or private property, and size and complexity of the event. 
  • Fortune Teller Licenses pursuant to and in accordance with Massachusetts General Law c. 140, § 185I. It takes approximately four to six weeks for an application to be processed and a license to be issued, if approved.
  • Open Air Parking Licenses pursuant to and in accordance with Massachusetts General Law c. 148, § 56 and the Special Acts of 1930, c. 121. It takes approximately four to six weeks for an application to be processed and a license to be issued, if approved.
  • Raffle & Bazaar Permits are processed by the Cambridge License Commission.  The permits are contingent upon the provisions set forth in Massachusetts General Law c. 271, § 7A.
